How to Get Your Two Hands Back
Let’s be honest. Before the baby arrived, I naïvely thought I’d get stuff done during their naps. Reality check: my baby had a built-in radar. The second I put him down in the bassinet, his eyes popped wide open.
So, I spent my days one-handed, walking around with a little 4kg koala attached to my left arm. Bye-bye peaceful showers, bye-bye two-handed meals.
The carrier changed the game completely. It’s not just a piece of fabric; it’s literally an extra set of arms. The first time I strapped him in, nice and snug against my chest, he was asleep in 5 minutes flat. And me? I made a coffee. And I actually drank it. Hot.
Beyond the practical side, there is that incredible bond. Feeling their breath against mine, being able to kiss the top of their head whenever I want... It’s our little safety bubble when the outside world (or just the messy living room) gets too stimulating.
If you have a "velcro baby," babywearing isn't an option—it's survival. The sweetest kind of survival.
What’s the very first thing you did once you got your two hands back?
